Man, May has been one for the books!
I was lucky enough to visit Universal Studio’s brand-new theme park, Epic Universe – twice – before it officially opened to the public.
And let me tell you, it lives up to its name.
It’s absolutely stunning, full of immersive lands, jaw-dropping rides, and an atmosphere that really makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world.
Such a privilege to experience it early.
This month also included a very special celebration: my dear friend and fellow Kiwi Kara turned 21!
We marked the occasion in style with Kara drinking around the world at Epcot and then headed to Topgolf for some competitive fun and chaotic swings.
A day full of laughs, memories, and questionable golf form.
I’ve also dipped my toes into Orlando’s nightlife recently, which has been fun – but I’ll be honest, nothing quite compares to New Zealand’s vibes!
There’s something about a Kiwi night out that just hits different.
On a more emotional note, a lot of the friends I’ve made through work are starting to head back home, which has been tough.
Saying goodbye is never easy, but I feel so lucky to have shared this chapter of life with such amazing people.
I’ll carry these memories with me forever.
Just as this transition starts, a new adventure begins for me too – I’ve officially found out that I’m transferring from Living with the Land to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Rise of the Resistance isn’t just a ride—it’s a full-on experience.
You’re thrown right into the planet of Batuu in the Star Wars universe as a new recruit for the Resistance, but things go sideways quickly when you’re captured by the First Order.
It’s part dark ride, part trackless vehicle, part simulator, and part theatrical show, all wrapped into one massive, immersive story.
Think action, drama, stormtroopers, and a dramatic escape. I can’t wait to start!
Summer is just around the corner here, although Florida’s infamous wet season has already kicked in.
Most days it’s full-blown, torrential downpours, but it’s still sitting above 30°C every day, so ponchos and AC are the current necessities.
