So I may or may not have told a lie when I told you I wouldn’t wait so long for the next update! But here we are, so let’s get straight into it.

Picking up from where we left off, I got to go to this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. I actually went twice and managed to do all ten of the haunted houses, which featured themes based on famous movies and shows as well as some completely original storylines. My favourite was definitely the Terrifier house with Art the Clown, followed very closely by Five Nights at Freddy’s.

At the start of October, me and a friend from work, Sydney, spent the day celebrating Taylor Swift and her new album The Life of a Showgirl. Our day started with coffee and bagels, followed by a trip to the movies to see Taylor (on the big screen) talk about what each song on the album means to her. We also got to see behind-the-scenes clips for her new music video for The Fate of Ophelia. We ended the night at EPCOT — definitely a TS-approved day.

Later in the month, two of my roommates and I decided to take an impulsive roadtrip down to Miami, where we saw Billie Eilish on her HIT ME HARD AND SOFT tour. This was my second time seeing Billie and she did not disappoint! Her stage presence is out of this world, and I cannot wait to see her again whenever that may be. (I was also supposed to see Reneé Rapp in Tampa at the end of October, but unfortunately the show was rescheduled to a new date so I couldn’t make it.)

To round off October, one of my dear friends Sephoris came to visit. His program finished a few months ago so he went back home to Buffalo, New York, so it was really cool to spend a few days with him. A big group of us rented an Airbnb for a few days while he was here and we had a lot of good times and laughs. We threw a pretty cool Halloween party and it was so fun seeing a bunch of our work friends in their costumes. We also got to see the new show that just opened at Animal Kingdom a week before the public. It’s called “Zooptopia: Better Zoogether!” and to be totally honest… I wouldn’t race back to watch it. But it was still cool to see it during Cast previews for Cast Members only.

Moving onto November’s events, I got to go back to Universal’s new theme park, Epic Universe. I went twice during passholder previews, so it was very cool to be back now that the park has officially opened. I had so much fun just being with the people I care about most, going on fun rides, eating amazing food, and especially meeting Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon (and I may or may not have had a tear in my eye after taking that picture).

November is also the month I turned 20! My friend Hillary went all out making me a custom happy birthday button and icing me a cake — which was delicious, by the way. We celebrated by doing all four Disney World parks in one day, where we did at least one ride, ate one snack, and met one character in each park. We started at Animal Kingdom, where we had a buffet breakfast with Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy, then onto Magic Kingdom, then EPCOT, before ending the night at Hollywood Studios. Definitely a birthday I’ll cherish and remember for many years to come. ❤️

Well, that rounds up all of the major events as of recent. Apart from that, I’ve been working hard for the Resistance in our fight against the First Order, as well as spending as much time as I can in the parks either on my lonesome or with my friends. The weather has also gotten a bit chillier, which is reminding me of home a bit! With just under eight weeks until I’m back in New Zealand, it’s very sad and scary that the time is going super duper fast, but I’m also very excited to be back.

See you next time!
